FAIRVIEW PARK CITY HALL GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE RETROFIT

 FAIRVIEW PARK, OHIO

Behnke, as part of its design-build team project submittal, developed the most cost-efficient pervious pavement and bioretention solution to the city’s request for its parking lot green infrastructure retrofit.  With the savings realized from Behnke’s design, the team upgraded and beautified the main pedestrian entry into city hall with a portico (drained with a translucent downspout to raise visitors’ awareness of rainwater runoff,)  and small seating area.

The majority of the project was funded with an OEPA Section 319 grant. Signage will educate all visitors about how the project improves the quality of the city’s local waterways, and contrasting paving treatments create a crosswalk for pedestrians to utilize, to get to the building door more safely.
